Waiting comfortably

I am blessed to have some internet access in my hospital room. I am currently in Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS. Everything seems to be going well so far in terms of my comfort and support. Unfortunately, Emma's heart rate declined significantly overnight and we have identified some more edema that has spread to me. We will likely be here for a few more days.

I am in Stormont Vail, Room 461.

I hope the rooms there are really nice and that you have every comfort! So glad you are updating so that we know how to specifically pray.

Kim and Tim, I've been thinking about you all day. Thank you for the update. I've sent some images from sunset last night to your ako email.

This is a prayer I've prayed many times.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. (ps. 147:3)
I come to You today with a heart full of holes and the wind blowing through. My hopes are in tatters. Jesus, you know all about heartbreak. Breathe Your healing presence into my being. I lift up my soul to you. Blessed are those who mourn and they will be comforted. (Matt. 5:4). Blessed, You said. Bless me Lord, Touch me, gentle Savior. Carry me, Father of compassion and God of all comfort. In the midst of your sorrow, the Lord is giving you seeds for a harvest. If you go forward now, sowing in tears, you will return with songs of joy, bringing abundance with you. (Ps. 126:4-6) Help me trust you with my tears today. In Your hands, every grief is the seed for joy and bounty later. It is something only You can do. Aunt Jody

Ah, Kim, I wish I could just wave my hands and make it all better. Mom and I will be on our way early tomorrow and should be in Topeka about 4:30 or 5:00. Aunt Jody always has the right words and prayers, doesn't she?

You and Tim are extremely brave. We will be with you as soon as we can.

Love,
Dad
